What Is BOTOX Cosmetic®?

BOTOX® is an easy injection for the treatment of frown lines and crows feet. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by contractions of the delicate underlying facial muscles every time you smile, laugh or frown. The more emotions you show, the deeper these wrinkles and lines are likely to be. Patients will usually notice results 2 to 10 days after a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment.

What Can I Expect From My BOTOX® Treatment?

Botox can be performed with little or no noticeable side effects. Generally, you can expect to see relaxing of the wrinkles between 5 and 10 days.

How Long Will My Treatment Last?

Botox works to reduce facial wrinkles for 3 – 6 months. Over time with continued usage, many of our patients find that they may only need an occasional Botox injection during the year. Botox’s effectiveness does vary from individual to individual and we would be happy to discuss any Botox limitations in detail during your cosmetic consultation.

What Is Dysport®?

Dysport is used to treat dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repetitive muscle movements, such as frowning or squinting. Common areas treated with Dysport include the forehead, glabella (the area between the eyebrows), and crow’s feet (the wrinkles around the eyes). The effects of Dysport typically begin to appear within a few days after injection and can last for several months, although individual results may vary. Repeat injections are often necessary to maintain the desired results over time.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY Dysport® TREATMENT?

One of the advantages of Dysport treatment is that there is usually minimal downtime, and you can typically resume your regular activities immediately afterward. You may notice some immediate smoothing of wrinkles, although the full effects of Dysport usually take a few days to become apparent.

HOW LONG WILL MY TREATMENT LAST?

The duration of Dysport’s effects can vary from person to person, but generally, the effects of Dysport injections typically last for about three to four months. After this period, you may start to notice a gradual return of muscle activity in the treated areas, and wrinkles and lines may gradually reappear.

Patient Testimonials

34th & West

I’ve been a patient at Central Austin Derm for many many years, and specifically a patient of Shirien for many of those years. I never feel like she is in a rush, even if she is having a busy day. She explains what she is doing, listens to what concerns me, and is warmly professional.

I’ve been seeing Shirien Coover PA for several years. She puts me at ease, protecting my dignity and privacy during skin checks, and she is very soothing and as gentle as possible if/when she finds anything that requires removal. She also patiently answers my questions and genuinely wants me to understand the medical terminology. I also find their rates to be affordable and reasonable, which is rare and refreshing where health care costs are concerned.
