Dr. Quoc-Bao Nguyen is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgeon with a remarkable educational and training background. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Dr. Nguyen is delighted to return to his hometown to offer compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care to his patients.

Dr. Nguyen graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Austin, earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in the Dean’s Scholars Honors Program with Special Honors and graduating the top of his class with a 4.0 GPA. He received his Medical Degree with Honors from Texas A&M University. During his intern year, he trained in Neurological Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and completed a clinical research year as a sub-investigator in approximately 20 dermatology clinical research trials, while also earning an MBA in Finance from The University of Houston. His work in collaboration with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies has led to the development of several innovative therapies and solutions.

Dr. Nguyen pursued his Dermatology Residency at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center/The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Combined Training Program, specializing in skin cancer management. He further honed his expertise by completing a Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania, focusing on complex facial reconstruction. Dr. Nguyen is committed to enhancing skin cancer treatment options at Central Austin Dermatology and Aesthetics by offering advanced Mohs surgery techniques.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Nguyen has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the ASDS Resident Scholarship and the World Congress of Dermatology Scholarship. He was also inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. His contributions to dermatological research have been significant, with over 30 publications in top-tier dermatology journals and more than 100 presentations at state, national, and international conferences. Dr. Nguyen has mentored college students, medical students, and junior physicians, helping to shape the future of dermatology and Mohs surgery.

Dr. Nguyen is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.

In his free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys weightlifting, swimming, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and participating in community service. He values spending quality time with family and friends.
