Dr. Simi Cadmus grew up in Nigeria and moved to the United States with her family. She attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Brain, Behavior and Cognitive Science. College was a great time to explore different cultures and she used this opportunity to participate in study abroad programs in both France and China.
Her journey continued to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she completed a Masters of Science degree at Drexel University. She then obtained her medical degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. During her medical school career, she completed several research projects, publications, presentations and also spent a summer in Ghana learning about skin of color and tropical dermatology.
In keeping with her love of new experiences, Dr. Cadmus completed a one-year transitional year residency program in Jacksonville, FL before subsequently moving to Austin for dermatology residency at the University of Texas/Dell Medical where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Her professional interests include surgical dermatology, skin of color, hair loss, and cosmetics.
When she is not working, Dr. Cadmus loves to spend time with her family trying new restaurants, going to museums/learning about history, listening to music, watching an engaging TV series, and of course traveling!
